MANAGING EDUCATION GROUPS
Manage Education Groups allows you to review the Education Groups that are currently in the database and it identifies how many users are in each of those groups (active and inactive). In this tab, you can add, edit, remove, and add trigger groups as needed.
How to Identify the type of Education group: ALL / LMS / QRM –
- ALL – would be used when the group is applicable to both the Learning Management System (LMS) and Quality and Risk Management (QRM).
- LMS – would be used when groups that apply to the Learning Management System only.
- QRM – would be used to create a group that will be solely used when assigning/ scheduling Quality and Risk Management Audits or Tools within the QRM application
Using the side menu, hover over the Resource Centre and click EDUCATION GROUPS to proceed.
The Education Groups page displays the name of the group and how many users (active/inactive) are in it.
How to Add or Edit an Education Group
When editing an Education Group, the title can be adjusted.
To edit an Education Group: Click the pencil icon to open the education group to begin edits.
To add a NEW Education Group: Click ADD NEW GROUP
- Enter the name of the group. If you are adding an Orientation Group, start with the word Orientation (i.e., Orientation Nursing). The list displays in alphabetical order so it keeps the Orientation Groups together.
- Select your Type (All, QRM, or LMS)
- Is this an Orientation Group?: Select YES or NO
- Select Triggered Groups (optional)
- Click SUBMIT to save.
VISIBLE TO: Determines which site(s) or location this group applies to.
TRIGGER CATEGORIES: Allows any associated group(s) education to immediately follow the orientation.
An example: A group called Orientation Dietary will have the triggered group-Dietary. Anyone in the Orientation Dietary group will also be assigned the training from the group Dietary.
How to Delete a Group
Making changes to the Education Groups may have an impact on the assigned education. Groups cannot be deleted that have users in them.
To delete a group that has users (active or inactive) you will need to review if there are any assignments attached to that group. If anything is assigned to that group you will want to remove the assignment and once it is determined that no education is assigned to the group(s) you need to remove the users out of the group for both active and inactive.
You can move the users out of the group by going into each profile, and uncheck the education group, or you can do a bulk change from Manage Users.
Once the education groups are at zero users, click on the garbage can icon to delete.
