APPROVING A POLICY IN POLICY PROFESSIONAL
Approving a document in Surge Learning completes the review cycle. Multiple approvers can be assigned to a document. A setting is available to require all approvers to approve, with approvals completed in the specified sequence.
An approver must always have a Policy Role called “approver” attached to their profile. Some organizations will use official roles (i.e. Approved as Director of Care) and therefore do not require the use of an “approver” role.
- Navigate to the Dashboard to view the number of documents assigned to you for approval.
- Open your Pending Approval tab to access all assigned documents.
- Select a document to begin your approval.
- You can view all changes and comments added by reviewers and choose to accept or reject them before approving the document. Additionally you are able to review comments added by external reviewers. All comments will be stored in the Activity area.
- When the review is complete, click Mark as Approved.
- In the confirmation window, select one of the following options:
- Send the document for immediate publishing (Publish), or
- Schedule the document for later publishing; the system will automatically publish it on the selected date.
Pending Publish - Publishing a Document at a Future Date
- Type in the Publish Schedule Date
- Select the Frequency
- Type in the Next Review Date
- Add any Comments
- Click Send to Publish Later
Publish Document
- Select the Frequency
- Type in the Next Review Date
- Add any Comments
- Click Publish
